Royal Melbourne’s Composite Course is continually rated in the top 10 golf courses in the world, an amalgamation of the work of two great golf course designers, Alister MacKenzie and Alex Russell. The Composite Course came into being in 1959 when Royal Melbourne was asked to hold the World Cup (known as the Canada Cup at that time).

The club provides excellent practice facilities, including two putting greens, short and long driving ranges, a 90m pitching area, and a practice hole.  After your round, the clubhouse welcomes you with panoramic views, dining, and a relaxed atmosphere for golfers to regroup. Blackwood is open to visitors on select days, making it an accessible and rewarding stop for golf travelers exploring South Australia.

The Club land covers 51.4 hectares of which some 16 hectares is fine turf area comprising the actual golf course. The course is very well maintained with access to water for all year round irrigation that enables the greens to be kept in top condition. Complementing the course are the many bird life and a selection of kangaroos who feed on the grass as golfers walk. The course is open every day except Christmas Day and attracts some 30,000 rounds of golf each year.

Facilities include a fully equipped pro shop, driving range, and practice areas. The recently renovated Oak & Vine restaurant and bar offers all-day dining with spectacular views of the lake and course

Beyond the course, Kooindah Waters offers comprehensive facilities, including a driving range, practice greens, a well-stocked pro shop, and a clubhouse with dining options.
